In 1961, he and his older brother exiled to Miami, Florida. Mr. Abril expresses his gratitude to the CIA and Operation Peter Pan; a little publicized, successful secretive effort which responsibly exiled more than fourteen thousand underage Cuban children to the United States without the accompaniment of their parents. Presently, he dedicates much of his time to democratic causes; primarily focusing on strengthening the principles and endurance of the one man, one woman, one vote principle.
