Overview

Oliver Tarsul is a mostly average 14-year-old kid; aside from being the unwilling roommate to an interdimensional space clown his step-father solicited to rebuild a portal designed by his recently deceased mother. Things are more than a little complicated. Regardless, dealing with a gelatinous slime monster in the shape of a clown girl named Dindet, while also trying to stay under the radar as the only trans kid in school, proves to be significantly harder than he imagined. But the fallout of his mother's supposed death didn't just bring into question what she was working on and who she was working with. It also brought along with it a part of Oliver's past that he'd rather just forget. His biological father.

Reviews

...It's captivating! Such an emotional ride with a really satisfying end... ...the characters are so well fleshed out and relatable...you really want to root for Oliver despite his offputting personality... The story itself is very interesting and I'd love to see more adventures of Oliver and Dindet....by the time I got near the end....I was actually picturing it in my head as a cartoon show, like a saturday morning serial... This book is laugh out loud funny, while also packing such an gut-wrenching punch, you might just cry. I know I did.

Author Information

Oleander is a former cosmetologist turn truck driver. And now, in a suprising turn of events, author. In his spare time, while not planning the next entry in his debut series, Caring for Your Clown, Oleander enjoys writing songs, poetry and instrumental music of various sorts. Don't worry, that's probably not ever going to get published! By far, his intrests lie strongly in the creative arts. Art and Animation is his biggest creative influence, and He is more often likely to be found drawing thousands of similar pictures that are slightly different from the last when NOT daydreaming for hours at a time about what probably awful thing he's going to do to his characters next. He also doesn't like talking about himself in third person and thinks it's sort of weird. But most of all, he hopes you like his books.
