She is the former director of The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and previous to that was director/curator of the Freedman Gallery at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. Snyder has had frequent contact with artists and collectors concerning the care and handling of artworks. She is currently an adjunct faculty member of the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art at the University of Akron, and she has lectured regularly on twentieth century art at the Museum of Modern Art and the New York School of Interior Design.
