Dr. Janice Block's Cardiac Examination in Homeopathy is a truly excellent model for a 21st century textbook in homeopathy. Dr. Block reviews the most common types of heart disease, provides an excellent summary of the symptoms of the diagnosis for each condition, and then translates the 19th century words from old homeopathic books into modern language in order to better help find the correct homeopathic medicine for cardiac patients. She provides a symptom-by-symptom listing of common and idiosyncratic heart symptoms and the homeopathic medicine (or medicines) that are known to help to heal the person with the syndrome of symptoms that match its toxicology. She then provides a materia medica of the leading homeopathic medicines that are commonly indicated for today's patient with heart disease. Dr. Janice Block is a medical doctor, homeopath, and integrative physician with over 20 years of experience in clinical medicine. She has a special interest in the areas of overlap between homeopathy and conventional medicine. Dr. Block practices homeopathy and conventional Western medicine through Kupat Cholim Leumit, one of the four public healthcare baskets in Israel. She has the distinction of being the official Leumit homeopathic doctor for the greater Jerusalem area. Dr. Block is board certified in Pediatric Medicine through the Israeli Ministry of Health, and in Classical Homeopathy through the Israeli Society for Classical Homeopathy. She holds diplomas in Medical Herbalism and Traditional Chinese Medicine and is certified in Naturopathy through the American Naturopathic Certification Board. Dr. Block is a regular speaker for the Whole Health Forum in Jerusalem. She also writes a column on homeopathy and complementary medicine for Connections Magazine, Israel.
