Card, Unleashed: A Card Jordan Western

Overview

The untamed frontier stretches far and wide, but danger always knows where to strike. When a desperate letter arrives from his wife's estranged uncle, Aaron, Card Jordan faces a new kind of wilderness--the snow-capped peaks of Colorado, where claim jumpers and cutthroats rule the mountains. Aaron's gold and silver mine has drawn the attention of ruthless killers, and he's counting on Card's iron will and fast draw to bring justice. But as Card tracks Aaron's shadowy enemies, he discovers a network of violence and greed far deeper than one man's survival. Armed with his Colts and a badge that carries as much weight as the past he can't shake, Card must battle lawless gunmen, treacherous terrain, and his own doubts about whether redemption is possible in a land where justice often comes at the barrel end of a gun. Can Card protect what's right without losing his soul? Or will Colorado's rugged peaks become his final resting place?

Author Information

Monty R. Garner was born and raised in Southeastern Oklahoma in the small town of Sawyer, which is nested along the banks of the Kiamichi River. He's owned horses and cattle, riding the former and working the latter. Over the years, he formed a deep connection and respect for the Old West and the courageous folks who braved the wild frontier. Monty is an avid reader and is particularly enthusiastic when it comes to Western authors and novels. His love of reading sparked his desire to write his first short story. He loves writing about real places and landmarks from the 1800s. In college, he wrote a ten-page paper about his grandmother, born in 1886, who married at fourteen and took in five orphaned nieces and nephews shortly thereafter. Monty's love for history and penchant for storytelling earned him an A+, and he hasn't looked back since. Now retired, he loves to travel, fish, spend time with his four grandkids, and tell stories. He looks for inspiration for future books wherever he goes, and he is a member of the Western Writers of America Inc. Tim Fannon is an actor, director, and teaching artist living in Los Angeles. He received his MFA in acting from Brooklyn College and has studied Shakespeare at the Royal National Theatre and the British Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and in Stratford-upon-Avon with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
