Overview

In a land where justice is measured in bullets, one quest for vengeance forges a relentless avenger. In 1875, sixteen-year-old Card Jordan returns from his first solo hunting trip to a scene of unimaginable horror--his family has been slaughtered by a gang of ruthless thieves. Scrawled in the dirt beside his mother's lifeless body are the chilling words: CARD, KILL THEM ALL. Driven by vengeance, Card must shed his youthful innocence and step into a world of danger and retribution. Adorned with his father's old Cavalry hat, he sets out to track down the murderers and exact justice, determined to uphold the honor of his family. Along the way, he faces heartache, illness, and the harsh realities of frontier life, all while honing his skills as a gunfighter. As Card's journey through North Texas and Indian Territory becomes a brutal quest for revenge while he pursues the gang's leader, Ned Black, each step brings him closer to his goal--and forces him to confront the deep pain of his loss and the uncertainty of his future. Will killing them all bring him peace? This is Book 1 in the Card Jordan series and perfect for listeners who relish classic frontier justice and violent gunfights.

Author Information

Monty R. Garner was born and raised in Southeastern Oklahoma in the small town of Sawyer, which is nested along the banks of the Kiamichi River. He's owned horses and cattle, riding the former and working the latter. Over the years, he formed a deep connection and respect for the Old West and the courageous folks who braved the wild frontier. Monty is an avid reader and is particularly enthusiastic when it comes to Western authors and novels. His love of reading sparked his desire to write his first short story. He loves writing about real places and landmarks from the 1800s. In college, he wrote a ten-page paper about his grandmother, born in 1886, who married at fourteen and took in five orphaned nieces and nephews shortly thereafter. Monty's love for history and penchant for storytelling earned him an A+, and he hasn't looked back since. Now retired, he loves to travel, fish, spend time with his four grandkids, and tell stories. He looks for inspiration for future books wherever he goes, and he is a member of the Western Writers of America Inc. Tim Fannon is an actor, director, and teaching artist living in Los Angeles. He received his MFA in acting from Brooklyn College and has studied Shakespeare at the Royal National Theatre and the British Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and in Stratford-upon-Avon with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
