OverviewIn the face of ruthless outlaws, one lawman's duty is pushed to its limits. Marshal Card Jordan is a man of principle, but when the ruthless Slade brothers come to town, it's a test of everything he holds dear. Emmett and Preston Slade are leaving trails of blood all across Texas, and their next target is a railroad payroll they plan to rob in broad daylight. With his family and town counting on him, Card must stop the brothers before their violence reaches unbearable heights. But in the shadows of this high-stakes pursuit, the line between right and wrong begins to blur. And as the Slade brothers begin to enact their heist, the true cost of their lawlessness becomes clear--and Card will have to make a choice that could haunt him forever. Will Card uphold the law, or will justice drive him toward a darker path? In a land where retribution often eclipses redemption, only one thing is certain--duty always calls. Garner was born and raised in Southeastern Oklahoma in the small town of Sawyer, which is nested along the banks of the Kiamichi River. He's owned horses and cattle, riding the former and working the latter. Over the years, he formed a deep connection and respect for the Old West and the courageous folks who braved the wild frontier. Monty is an avid reader and is particularly enthusiastic when it comes to Western authors and novels. His love of reading sparked his desire to write his first short story. He loves writing about real places and landmarks from the 1800s. In college, he wrote a ten-page paper about his grandmother, born in 1886, who married at fourteen and took in five orphaned nieces and nephews shortly thereafter. Monty's love for history and penchant for storytelling earned him an A+, and he hasn't looked back since. Now retired, he loves to travel, fish, spend time with his four grandkids, and tell stories. He looks for inspiration for future books wherever he goes, and he is a member of the Western Writers of America Inc. Tim Fannon is an actor, director, and teaching artist living in Los Angeles. He received his MFA in acting from Brooklyn College and has studied Shakespeare at the Royal National Theatre and the British Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and in Stratford-upon-Avon with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
