Overview
When an aging rock-n-roll roadie happens across a neurotic ET with a stash of cosmic pot, he finds himself transformed into Captain Cannabis - a reluctant hero who must learn how to use his new superhuman powers to stop a crazed ""machine of death"" from turning Earth into the ultimate PRISON PLANET. 420 mixes highbrow comedy and adventure with the rough and tumble sensibilities of the wrong side of the tracks. Down-and-out Halburt ""Hal"" Lighter finds himself tossed into the middle of an extraterrestrial turf war over the planet Earth, where the entire future of the human species is at stake. The story is fun and the characters are great answers to the clichés of the genre, adventuring in an inspired universe. This screenplay provides the original basis for the second half of the Captain Cannabis series, with updates and changes made along the way. While much has changed and evolved, the underlying story has remained consistent and only gotten better over time.
