His current research is focused on how North American integration and transnational production are restructuring daily life at the community level. His publications include a co-edited book, La Insercion de Mexico ~n la Cuenca del Pacifico. Alejandro Alvarez Bejar is a Professor of Economics at the National University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City. He has authored and edited many books, including La crisis global del capitalismo en Mexico, La Inserci6n de Mexico en la Cuenca del Pacifico (co-edited), and Mexico 1988- 1991: l Un Ajuste Econ6mico Existoso? (co-authored). Jomo K. S. is Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.
