It's after visiting hours at the Cape Misfortune Asylum - but an unexpected visitor has turned up for a chat nonetheless. Is it the terrifying Krampus of local folklore - or a madman escaped from a nearby isolation ward? The visitor promises to answer the mystery of the ancient evil haunting Cape Misfortune. A peasant boy, born with hooves instead of feet, is condemned to die in the salt mines for stealing the shape of animals. Abetted by a forgotten goddess and a shape thief called Skorpia he enters an ancient world of shape thieves, lost gods and a magical liquid that bestows eternal life. He must confront Pyron, the all-powerful god of his world. It is a battle that will decide the fate of his world - and ours. Cape Misfortune - Evil has to start somewhere.
