Cape Cod Charlie- A Day at Fenway: 2 Brothers First Trip to a Major League Baseball Field

Overview

Join Charlie and his little brother Phil on their first unforgettable trip to historic Fenway! The boys journey from Cape Cod to Boston for a day filled with baseball magic, as Gramps shares stories of the Red Sox legends along the way. They cross the Sagamore Bridge to see the famous Green Monster, singing ""Sweet Caroline,"" and cheering for a Red Sox victory along the way. This beloved tale embraces the joy of family, tradition, and baseball- America's favorite pastime. Can you spot the secret message of love? Set against the backdrop of picturesque Massachusetts', this charming story introduces readers to the magical number 143-a special code for ""I love you."" It all began with Minot's Ledge Lighthouse, whose flashing light pattern-1-4-3-became a beloved symbol of love and connection. Children can search for the hidden 143 tucked into every page of this beautifully illustrated tale, learning that love is always shining, even in the tiniest places.

Author Information

Kathleen Sheerin Polaske, author, is a retired School Counselor who worked for sixteen years at Middletown High School in Connecticut. 'Cape Cod Charlie- A Day at Fenway' is her second published children's book in the Cape Cod Charlie series. The essence of the story is the time honored tradition of a father and grandfather taking their children to their first baseball game. This day would create a life long memory. Kathleen raised her family in Connecticut and is now living on Cape Cod and Naples, Florida. She enjoys running, golfing, cooking and traveling. I wrote this story to capture the magic of a child's first baseball game-a day I remember fondly from my own life. For me, it wasn't just about the game on the field, but the joy of being there with family, sharing traditions, and creating a memory that stays forever. I hope this book brings that same sense of wonder and connection to readers young and old.
