Author Information

Gangadhar Joshi, the Former Director of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM) (2005–8), is currently the Principal Consultant of Gangadhar Joshi & Associates, a multidisciplinary management consulting, education and training firm based at Pune, India. He is a mechanical engineer (1971) with Masters in Industrial Engineering (1975). With an extensive private and public sector experience in India and overseas, he has been involved in advising governments and industries at the strategic level, developing/implementing change management programmes, institutional strengthening, business re-engineering, cost reduction, lean manufacturing, manpower planning, management development and performance management.He has been closely involved in counselling and advising senior executives on developing and implementing their business strategy. Over the years, he has developed and conducted workshops for top and senior managers in strategic planning, productivity management, total quality management, change management leadership, ISO 9000 Certification and executive performance management. Joshi took over the leadership of the Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM) in 2005, as its Founder Director, and within a short span of 3 years SIOM became known in the corporate world as reliable source of globally compatible managerial human resource which could meet its expectations. SIOM further prospered on this solid foundation in its mission of empowering operations excellence.
