During his lifetime, he published several books on the outdoors, including Camping and Woodcraft (1906), Camp Cookery (1910), and Our Southern Highlanders (1913). Kephart was an integral advocate in the creation of the National Parks System. He passed away in 1931 in Byson City, North Carolina.David Nash is a verifiable preparedness MacGyver.
