Reviews

The novel begins as we are introduced to Siriol Haf; a private and insecure woman in her thirties who has just managed to buy her own small flat and escape from the oppressive home of her over protective parents. Life has not been easy for her, and she has experienced career disappointment and an engagement that ended suddenly. When an old school friend unexpectedly forces herself and her family into her new home, Siriol comes to face her past and grows unexpected strength. Amongst the various characters there is a failed children’s entertainer, a rich woman who lives for her house, the receptionist at the local spa, an alpacas farmer who has become disillusioned with the world of agriculture, a tired massage therapist, a businessman who returns from America to his childhood home, a teacher who feels distanced from her daughter who is a Tik Tok influencer and a widow who forces herself on her busy family by moving to their town. -- Cyhoeddwr: Y Lolfa
