Claudia Mills has written many children's books, including 7 x 9 = Trouble!, the Franklin School Friends series, the After-School Superstar series, and Zero Tolerance. She recently received the Kerlan Award for her contribution to children's literature. She was a professor of philosophy for more than two decades at the University of Colorado and is now a faculty member in the graduate programs in children's literature at Hollins University. As a petite, five-foot-tall half-Japanese actress who was mostly cast in Juliet-esque and sweet girl-next-door roles throughout her film and stage career, Sarah Skaer loves playing beyond her face value within her narrative work: silly and dynamic characters in children's stories, gossipy and cold-as-ice in chick lit, thoughtful and grounded in nonfiction. Her voice can be described as bright, youthful, and warm.
