OverviewThis book is not a textbook and it is not intended for math majors. It is a book for students who are required to take calculus for their major but do not understand limits and need a method to solve problems. It is meant to give a better operational ability by presenting calculus as an algebraic manipulation of differentials that has been used by scientists and engineers for centuries. This book focuses on the infinitesimal interpretation of differentials as they were originally conceived by G. Leibnitz over 300 years ago but not legitimized until A. Robinson in 1960. It is written in the spirit of Calculus Made Easy written by S. Thompson who said What one fool can do another can. He wrote his book in 1910 but this book is, I believe, even easier. I have attempted to write what nobody else seems to want to write for fear of appearing non-rigorous. Since I am not a mathematician but a simple retired high school math teacher I have no such qualms. Good luck in your studies!
