Overview

Venice 1953 - A new client of the Cantoni-Mendes-Modiano law firm, Ugo Cossi, is found dead, apparently thrown out of a window of his deceased parents home. His youngest sister and his widow show Rachele Modiano Mendes evidence that Ugo's father was blackmailing people. The evidence lead to reopening the inquest of the accident that killed Carlo Cossi and his wife. Experts agree it was not an accident. Meanwhile, people who were being blackmailed are contacted again with an anonymous letter that ends with 'we shall not be as nice as Carlo Cossi'. Who killed Ugo Cossi? Who killed his parents?
