Overview

Silas Beatty had come west after the War Between the States looking for, something. The seemingly endless cattle drive from Texas to Montana had been a good start. Drifting back south, he had worked for the railroad, hunted Buffalo, and anything else to make a dollar. He had lived with, worked with, and fought Indians along the way. Still looking for something and not knowing what, he found himself in south Texas working with a small Ranger unit. These men were men he respected, tough and smart.
