Two-page spreads ask a simple question superimposed on bright, detailed close-up photographs of the animal or body part. Answers and subsequent questions are found in easy to read, colored circles. A summary page presents a photo of each animal with specific information labeled. An additional chapter includes a page that gives one more interesting fact about each animal. What makes this series so outstanding is the excellent close-up photography. Readers can easily see the differences between the animals without being bogged down by overwhelming text. These high quality books would be a welcome addition to an elementary animal science collection. They will be appreciated by animal lovers browsing the collection and classroom teachers presenting a beginning lesson on animal biology.
