She is the mother of two married children and a grandmother of three nature-loving young grandchildren. She began her first butterfly garden in 2004 near Cincinnati, Ohio. Now being a grandma, it seemed natural to apply rhyming verse to tell the story of the Monarch butterfly life cycle and the nectar and host plants required to see it all happen. Planting native milkweed species and nectar plants is one way to help the monarchs survive and bring the enchantment of butterflies to your yard! In 2019, she registered her gardens with the Plant for Pollinators Challenge sponsored by the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. This is her first children's book. It is a self-published, print on demand book. She was inspired to write it for young children, parents and grandparents with the hope that simple rhyming words and pictures will encourage the creation of butterfly gardens everywhere. Keith Falter worked professionally as a global business and technology executive strategist. He provided instrumental technical support in producing this children's book and is married to the author. Emma and Genevieve Falter are the grandchildren of the author. They provided the title and most of the illustrations. They are both in grade school. Emma Falter drew the cover illustration for the book. Genevieve Falter suggested the books title the first night the words were read to her.
