OverviewWhen I read that large and well diversified corporation had been placed under liquidation, I was not surprised. I had anticipated problems this business ten years earlier, at the time everyone in Zambia was fascinated by the entrepreneurial shrewdness of its founders. My observation though, was that the expansion was not motivated by strong business pillars among them accountability, transparency, self-management, good business management and foresight. Business survive and succeed on the back of strong entrepreneurial capabilities of those that run the enterprise. These build systems that support the businesses. Strong values and principles are central to these systems. It is the values and principles are central to these systems. It is the values that fumigate that can slowly bring it down. This book begins with an exploration of Zambian and other cultures, adeptly illustrating how cultural attributes can serve as competitive advantages in the business world. In today's interconnected world, an argument is put forward for the importance of leveraging cultural diversity to foster collective growth and success.
