The new editions of our Legal Practice Course Guides have been extensively revised and updated to take account of the many legislative and other changes that have taken place over the last year. Previous editions of these Guides established a reputation for clarity and authority and subsequent editions have built on that reputation. The Guides are written by established authors and have been produced under the editorial guidance of editor-in-chief Professor Philip Knott, Head of Professional Legal Studies at Nottingham Law School and series editors: Philip A. Jones, Pro-Vice Chancellor and formerly Director of Legal Practice at the University of Sheffield and Carol Crowdy, solicitor, former Course Director of the LPC at the University of the West of England, Bristol. LPC Business Law is essential reading for the Business Law & Practice element of the Legal Practice Course. It provides up-to-date coverage of company law, taxation (both individual and corporate) and insolvency law. In addition, the Guide covers relevant aspects of EC law and special topics such as choice of business medium, company accounts, public companies and agency and distributorship agreements. As with previous editions, the 2001/2002 edition has been revised and updated to incorporate the effect of the latest budget, together with any recent changes in the field of business law. Changes specific to this edition are the substantial re-working of the taxation elements, the introduction of a completely new chapter on limited liability partnerships and enhanced coverage of matters relating to share capital and company finance.
