Overview

This is a solo anthology of the poet which consists 40 long and short poems on various contemporary burning topics like war and peace, friendship and fraternity, love and compassion, hunger and starvation, pain of separation to reunion of lovers, rainbow to nightingale, Tagore to Gandhi and Cleopatra to Virginia Woolf, and so on. The poet has used various forms of poetry in it like sonnet, quatrain, ode, ghazal, etc. The poet has intellectual inclination towards mysticism and suffiism which may be found in his poems. His progressive approach towards life can be seen in such poems like In Favour of Hungry that is included in this anthology.

Dr. Perwaiz Shaharyar is a Consultant Editor in the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Ministry of Education, Government of India. He had been Principal Publication Officer in NCPUL during 2007. He is an Advisory Member in NBT India, a Jury Member in Sahitya Akademi and Member of Board of Management in Jamia Milia Islamia. He is a trilingual poet, short story writer, critic, translator and story writer for children. He is a Graduate with English Honours from Ranchi University. He is in Masters with Literature and Master of Philosophy from JNU and Doctor of Philosophy from University of Delhi. He has 20 published books in his credential, so far.
