Burning Bar: Confessions of a Reformed Professional Safecracker

Overview

Sean Sa Storm began a life of crime as a teen. He was ignored and belittled by a cruel father who let his sister drive the family car anytime she wanted. Not Sean. When he needed a way to pay for a car and overcome his young life of poverty, he teamed up with a friend, bought some pry bars and started breaking into coin boxes. Eventually the petty crimes grew to bigger heists as Sean learned to crack safes. When owners of the grocery stores that became this young thug's targets bought bigger, tougher safes, Sa Storm became acquainted with a tool called a burning bar. That cutting torch would open about any safe in the world. Sean was soon on a road to riches, with the police trying to figure out who was responsible for the crime spree. Yes, Sa Storm eventually ended up in prison, where he became a teacher, helping other inmates get their GEDs. When he got transferred to a Texas prison, he qualified for a work release program and a new career. His determination and burning ambition to break into the business world instead of safes would make him a millionaire. The saga of that journey from criminal to respected businessman provides an intimate look at the mind, activities and life of a young man who learned that luck comes from outworking the competition. Sa Storm hopes his example will help inspire others who might be headed down a wrong road.
