Until her retirement, Kath was a senior manager in Nottinghamshire Public Libraries with a particular interest in staff development. She revalidated her Fellowship in 2014. Margaret Watson was President of CILIP 2003–4; the main theme for her presidency was continuing professional development (CPD). She chaired CILIP’s Qualifications Framework Steering Group and CILIP’s Ethics Panel.
