Autobiography: Albert H. Yurvati, DO, PhD, DSc(hc), DFACOS, FACOS, FICS, FAHA, CPPS, is an emeritus professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM). Dr. Yurvati grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He met his soulmate, Sharon, while they were both serving in the U.S. Army, and they have been married for over 50 years. After completing medical school, Dr. Yurvati pursued two residencies and had a distinguished career as a cardiothoracic surgeon. He now dedicates his time to teaching and mentoring TCOM medical students. He and his wife, Sharon, live in Texas with their Scottish Fold kittens. This book is intended to guide current and future surgeons in training on how to navigate the demands of a surgical marriage.
