This special re-print edition of US Dept of Agriculture's book Breeding and Testing Strawberry Varieties is a guide to growing strawberries to perfection. Written in 1949, this classic text provides insight into five heirloom strawberry varieties that were introduced to growers in the 1940's, namely the varieties Shasta, Lassen, Donner, Sierra and Tahoe. Included are details on the cultivation of these varieties, as well as their performance. Note: This edition is a perfect facsimile of the original edition and is not set in a modern typeface.
