OverviewThis is the true story about Timmy Martin, a boy at the age of six whom was kidnapped from Chicago, IL in 1969. He was taken to the other side of Lake Michigan and wasn't reunited with his mother until 3 days later. The story shows how he was miraculously rescued by deer hunters after a prayer to Jesus whiled he was being drowned. The story is written in the third person to include information from other sources. Yet in some cases goes to first person to tell what was learned and in the beginning has a childlike point of view but in latter parts has a more mature tone to explain the ramifications. The story shares the personal terror, thoughts and feelings about the experience, and the kidnapper. How he desperately wanted to get away and be back with his mother, but had to be cunning in order not to make the strange man mad. One part is about Timmy""s family and who he had become through his parents divorce. It has stories that everyone can relate to from their childhood, and foreshadows the kidnapping and christian doctrine on salvation. Second part is about the kidnapping and what happened. The story references the NIV Bible, newspaper articles, a magazine article, and a court transcript. Third part is about the trial. It shows the trauma and how the whole experience affected Timmy then and now.
