Overview

The cancer that develops in the breast tissues is termed as breast cancer. Its symptoms are a change in breast shape, a lump in the breast, fluid coming from the nipple, dimpling of the skin, a newly inverted nipple, and a scaly or red patch of the skin. Metastatic breast cancer may include swollen lymph nodes, bone pain and shortness of breath. Risk factors of breast cancer are obesity, alcoholism, lack of physical exercise, ionizing radiations, older age, hormone replacement therapy during menopause, and a family history of breast cancer, etc. It generally develops in the cells of the lining of milk ducts and the lobules supplying milk in these ducts.
