Anti-Semitism is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) prejudices and hatreds in the world. Unfortunately, it cannot be ascribed only to non-Jewish individuals. Throughout the history of Jewish people, some converts from Judaism contributed to the flames of Jew-hatred. This book is seeking to identify what led these apostates to their desire to harm Jewish people, to endanger the lives of their former coreligionists. From Saul of Tarsus, who separated Jews from Early Christians, and Tiberius Julius Alexander, who commanded the Roman troops destroying the Second Temple, to Nicolas Dolin, who initiated Talmud burning, to Theobald of Cambridge, who invented the first blood libel, to false messiahs who inspired mass conversion of Jews into Christianity and Islam, to Yakov Brafman, who laid the basis for The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, to Karl Marx, who spitted anti-Semitism in his attempts to redefine the world, to Otto Weininger and Arthur Trebitsch, who became the favorite anti-Jewish ideologues of Hitler-all these people (as well as some others) produced an indelible and persisting harm to Jewish people through centuries. Yet Jewish people withstood every anti-Semitic insult and every attempt to destroy and even annihilate them. Despite the betrayals of Jewish apostates, Judaism survived, and Jewish people (though different in their observance) remain true to their beliefs and customs. עַם יִשְׂרָאֵל חַי People of Israel live.
