His scholarship examines narrative, genre, and culture in twentieth-century American literature and cinema. Leonard Engel is a professor emeritus of English at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, USA. He has edited five collections of essays, most recently New Essays on Clint Eastwood.
