Margarita Engle es una poeta, novelista y periodista Cubano-Americana. Ella es la autora de libros de no ficción en formatos ilustrado, de grado medio y adultos jóvenes. Margarita Engle también es la autora de novelas en verso, incluyendo el libro de Honor Newberry El Árbol de la Rendición y los libros de Honor Pura Belpré The Firefly Letters y Hurricane Dancers.
