Overview

Bravo was a malamute mix pup, born at McMurdo Station, Antarctica in 1956, at the start of the International Geophysical Year. He accompanied Lt. (jg) John Tuck Jr., a U.S. Navy Seabee, to the new South Pole station. Bravo's story tells of the challenging work done in the harsh climate, the science programs established, and the camaraderie of eighteen men and Bravo during that cold year.
