"BR Design was launched in 1985 to be a different type of design firm; their goals were different from many other firms by listening very carefully to their clients' desires and expectations. While some clients may complain that their ""Designers don't listen,"" BR Design has always practiced design as a cooperative activity involving dialogue between designer and client, and especially intensive collaboration among the firm's designers. Roger Yee, a graduate of the Yale School of Architecture, has received honors for his work in the field from such organizations as the American Institute of Architects, the American Society of Interior Designers, the International Interior Design Association. As editorial director of Visual Profile Books, he serves as the author and editor of such ongoing, periodically updated design books as Corporate Interiors, Healthcare Spaces, Educational Environments, Hotel & Restaurant Design, and Urban Spaces. A former editor of such publications as Contract, House Beautiful, Architectural Record and Corporate Design & Realty, Yee has contributed to a wide range of periodicals, such as Engineering News Record, Businessweek, Architecture and Woman's Day Kitchens & Baths.
