Author Information

Carole Boston Weatherford is a New York Times bestselling author and poet as well as the winner of the 2019 Washington Post Children's Book Guild Nonfiction Award. The recipient of numerous awards including the Coretta Scott King Award and the Caldecott Honor, she currently resides in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Dion Graham is a multiple Audie award-winning narrator and a critically acclaimed actor who has performed on Broadway, Off-Broadway, internationally, in films, and in several hit television series, including HBO's The Wire. His performances have been praised as thoughtful, compelling, vivid, and full of life. Michele Wood is an illustrator, a painter, a filmmaker, and a designer with a master's in divinity from Christian Theological Seminary. She has won numerous awards for her illustration work, including a Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award, as well as a nomination for an NAACP Image Award. She currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana.
