OverviewThis collection of articles grew out of papers presented at the European Colloquium on the Boundaries of Morphology and Syntax. The text is focused on the interface between morphology and syntax, though the morpho-syntax-pragmatics and the morpho-syntax-semantics interfaces are also considered. The text suggests possible ways in which morphology and syntax interact with each other while belonging to separate competence fields, but also focuses on the inevitable links and interactions with the higher components of grammar. Thematically, the volume is concerned with the topics and the approaches that are mostly involved in this conflict, both from the morphological and syntactic point of view. It is also concerned with a variety of typologically different languages from different areas, from European to Afro-Asiatic languages, or from American to Austronesian ones.
