Reviews

Hendrickson's first two Rabbit Labelle novels brilliantly let us experience the historical struggle of the 1960s civil rights movement through the eyes of a short, scrawny teen who loves sports, his family and friends, and doing what's right even when it's hard. In this final book in the trilogy, Rabbit's pushed to the limit with his father, his friends, and his baseball coach, even as the nation reels from a horrible tragedy that affects the people of Lynn, too. Hendrickson's created a wonderfully-imperfect hero we can't help but root for. Rabbit's struggles with anger and self-doubt, love and the pure joy of sport, are a wonderful rocket to ride. An engrossing, cathartic read. -- Terry Hayman, author of Chasing the Minotaur As teens struggle to navigate social challenges in today's society, this riveting story of teens engaged in the same struggle in the past will help today's youth see they are not alone, and there is hope for a better world now and in the future. -- Rebecca Shelley, author of Dragonbound: Blue Dragon and Nikeron the Great Another thoroughly enjoyable sports-based outing with heart and something to chew on after the game. -- Dory Crowe, author of Dark Secrets David H. Hendrickson is one of my favorite writers. -- USA Today Bestselling Author Kristine Kathryn Rusch One of the most diverse writers I have had the pleasure to meet. -- USA Today Bestselling Author Dean Wesley Smith
