Author Information

Christopher P. Vogt is associate professor of theology and religious studies, and a senior fellow of the Vincentian Center for Church and Society, St. John’s University, New York. His most sustained area of research and publication has dealt with the Christian ars moriendi tradition, attempting to articulate what dying well might look like from a contemporary Christian point of view and how Christians should endeavor to accompany the dying and face death themselves. He also does research focusing on social ethics and moral formation, with particular attention to the role churches and church-affiliated institutions play in cultivating virtue and shaping the public engagement of moral issues. Kate Ward is a theological ethicist working in areas including economic ethics, virtue ethics, fundamental moral theology and Catholic social thought. She is the author of Wealth, Virtue and Moral Luck: Christian Ethics in an Age of Inequality (Georgetown, 2021) and has published articles in journals including Theological Studies, Journal of Religious Ethics, Heythrop Journal, Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics, and American Journal of Economics and Sociology. She serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Moral Theology, Journal of Catholic Social Thought, and Asian Horizons
