Overview

Joshua Mason is an everyday man cursed with immortality. Joshua Mason has been alive for thousands of years. He doesn't know how or why it happened, only that he can die like any man, but will always return. When you live forever, everything you love will die, so he decided long ago to not become attached. That all changed when he met Doreen. With her, he found something more than the woman he loves, after thousands of years of wandering, he found his place in the world. Now she's dying of old age. Distraught, Joshua promises to look after Charlie, Doreen's grandson, who is thirty-six, but forever a child due to a terrible brain injury. Keeping Charlie safe means making money to keep Charlie's world--a crumbling motel in the middle of a barren desert--afloat. Mason makes this money by selling his life on the dark web to wealthy people who enjoy the ritual of murdering him. And now, when Mason only wants to mourn the loss of his wife, he discovers he sold his life to some very dangerous people and that Charlie is not as innocent as he seems.

Author Information

"John Nolte is a Midwesterner by birth, a Southerner by choice, and spent the first two decades of his working life as a bill collector. While barely scraping a living as a screenwriter in Hollywood, he met Andrew Breitbart, who hired him as the very first editor-in-chief of what is now Breitbart News, where Nolte still writes almost daily. Nolte is currently semi-retired in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, with Julie, his wife of thirty-three years, his two dogs, and a Blu-ray collection that will never be large enough. Jim Seybert has been telling stories for more than sixty years. As a young boy he would dictate stories, telling his parents to ""write this down."" Fast-forward to the present, and Jim lends his clear, confident voice to some of the most interesting stories of the day: military histories, political commentary, true crime, heroic memoirs, and great fiction. When he is not recording in his studio on California's pristine Central Coast, he walks quietly along trails in the Sierra Nevada, cooks gourmet meals for friends, and watches films with his wife Rhonda and their Chihuahua, Lucy."
