"Jane Iery was born into a large, happy family, the fifth of seven children. Born and raised a Catholic, Jane was active in her church much of her adult life, but that was after her tumultuous teenaged years. Smoking and drinking led to an unplanned pregnancy and an unwanted marriage. Not surprisingly, the marriage dissolved after a few years, and her drinking led her to meet another man in a bar. They soon married and moved back to Jane's hometown, prompting her to return to her childhood church. Life threw Jane some hard curveballs, but as it did, she became more earnest to know more about Jesus. She became involved in her church, singing in the choir and serving in various capacities until working her way up to becoming a pastoral assistant. Her world began turning upside down when she found a flyer to an evangelistic series titled Unlock Revelation. There she learned that much of what she'd been taught and believed in was not scriptural but false doctrine. She recounts: Pastor Crews asked us, ""Have we been true to the biblical text? I propose that the antichrist is the Roman Church-State church, the historic Christian church, the medieval Christian church; the church that was married to God itself became the antichrist!"" After hearing and seeing this, I paused the video. My mind was screaming, how can this be? How can this be? This cannot be so! I began to cry, and my entire body trembled uncontrollably. Jane's story, Born in Babylon, deserves wide circulation. This amazing and true story of a heavenly rescue operation shows the power of God's word to change lives-and the importance of evangelism to reach hearts. I had heard Jane's powerful testimony at the Michigan campmeeting and looked forward to reading the book as soon as it was available. And I was not disappointed. Jane's story is as gripping in print as her testimony was in person. After I started reading, I could not lay the book down until I had finished it. This is a missionary book that can be shared with our Bible-study interests. It not only contains an interesting and moving testimony, it outlines the major testing truths contained in God's word in a story fashion. I will be giving this book to a number of my friends. Although we will have to wait till heaven to hear many of the wonderful stories of God's leading, I am so thankful and blessed to have been exposed to a few that God lets us hear now! -Philip R. "Jane Iery writes from Michigan, where she lives with her husband, Dan. She is a mother of five and grandmother of eleven. Former Marquette County Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Coordinator, Jane currently enjoys her part-time retirement. She actively wears many hats in her church's ministries: Deaconess, Adult Sabbath School Teacher, Women's Ministry Leader, Sabbath School Superintendent Co-leader, Program Coordinator for School Bible Labs, a substitute Primary Sabbath School Teacher, and Chorister. In the summer of 2019, Jane was invited to give her testimony at Michigan's Summer Camp Meeting at Great Lakes Adventist Academy-live-streamed to 130 other locations and countries. This event precipitated an invitation to have a small part of her story published in the online Adventist magazine, Fulcrum7, titled ""Born in Babylon."" Jane actively shares her testimony anywhere God opens the door."
