OverviewWhat do we know about the life of Yeshua? Precious little. The earliest Gospel was written thirty years after his crucifixion, relied on memories, and composed in Greek for a Roman audience. How much can be counted on people's memories? How much of his story, told from one person to the next over the years in different languages and cultures, was changed or lost? The Gospels hide as much as they reveal the real Yeshua. Nor has the history of Our Spirit been chronicled. Ancient religions, for many millennia, aspired to only appease powerful and aloof gods through grain and animal sacrifices. Our Spirit, first proselytized by Zarathustra, played a significant role in the development of religious ethics, of gods assuming a more humane countenance, of people practicing and instituting a spiritual religion that, over time, affected the worth of their communities and the working of civil government. The Book of Yeshua: A Revelation of Our Spirit, Vol iii is an annotated narrative of social justice and spirituality. The inspiration for the book initially stemmed from Reza Aslan's Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth. Materials employed in the writing of this book include: The Bible, Gnostic Gospels, Dead Sea Scrolls, several biographies and histories-many authored by Michael Grant, and online resources. Delving into the world as Yeshua lived it, the Book of Yeshua reconstructs the story of a revolutionary spirit working through Yohanan the Baptist, then his cousin Yeshua, and finally his followers. They strive to makeover their world, then as now, battling over its social conscience. Today, the fiercest attacks come from the bigotry, greed, and authoritarian dictates of White Christian nationalists, their deluded supporters and dirty politicians. Through the lives of Yeshua and his protagonists, Our Spirit grew as a cultural force, and a will to be reckoned with. Projected volumes in this series of speculative history, or history as novel--novel as history: Book of Zarathustra, Book of Herod the Great, Book of Muhammad, A House Jane Addams Built, An Assortment of Lives.
