Bonfires Miraculous

Overview

It's the summer of 1945, and New Britain is occupied by Nazis. The resistance army created by Winston Churchill and led by the Outlaw Queen, Queen Elizabeth, is counting down the days until D-Day-the day British, Canadian, and American forces will invade Scotland, liberate New Britain from Hitler's regime, and bring peace to the rest of the world. But even with all their preparations, no one is sure if their plans will succeed. Men and women pining for freedom risk their lives both on the battlefield and in undercover positions as the Allies disrupt German supply lines and cause chaos amongst Nazi ranks. Hoping to remain in control, the German Army defends the Naval harbour of Scapa Flow in order to prevent the Allies from bringing in more troops. Little does the German Army know, a skilled group of men and women trained in spiritual warfare are on their doorstep. This is a war that must be fought-and won-on multiple fronts. Following ordinary citizens and prominent historical figures, Bonfires Miraculous is the long-awaited finale to The Alternative History of World War 2 series. The Second Battle of Britain is about to begin, and the outcome of World War 2 is in the balance.

Author Information

Robert Oldham was born and raised in England during a time when it was impossible to avoid noticing the devastating effects of World War 2. Seeing destroyed and damaged homes and workplaces, wounded veterans, and a rebuilding of the nation on a daily basis led Robert to develop a great appreciation for history and the importance of understanding and learning from the past. Robert was a Sapper with the Royal Canadian Engineers from the ages of sixteen to seventeen where he enjoyed target and grenade practice as well as weekly parades and training. He even helped build a Bailey bridge over a river at the Chilliwack army base near the Canada-U.S. border, winning a bridge-building race against an American National Guard team of engineers. Robert was a librarian for more than thirty years, first working as a children's librarian then as a reference librarian for the majority of his career. He began writing poetry in his twenties, then moved to short stories in middle age before finally beginning his six-book series, The Alternative History of World War 2, in the 1990s. When he's not busy writing, Robert enjoys reading and watching films at his home in Canada where he lives with his wife.
