Author Information

Chenjerai Hove was a poet, novelist and essayist born in 1956 in Mazvihwa, near Zvishavane, Zimbabwe. He was educated at the University of South Africa and the University of Zimbabwe and worked as an educator and journalist. He was a founding board member of the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association but was eventually forced into exile for his political activism. Hove published numerous novels, poetry anthologies, and collections of essays. Bones, his first novel written in English, won the Noma Award for publishing in Africa. Hove died in Norway in 2015.
