Bonds of Blood and Duty

Overview

Humans are not just unwelcome in Brigantium. They are a threat to be extinguished. As sister to Brigantium's king and wife of a ruthless fae lord, Evelin's life is ruled by duty. But when her second child is inexplicably born human, everything changes. To protect her baby from certain death, Evelin is forced to flee. Desperate, and with her children in tow, she seeks refuge with the only person she hopes she can trust - her estranged university friend Trystan, now the ruler of a rival kingdom. As war brews on the horizon and her husband's spies circle, Evelin must harness her magic to conceal her son's true nature. But as she grows closer to Trystan, a forbidden romance threatens to unravel everything she's fought to protect. In a world where bloodlines dictate fate and duty demands sacrifice, Evelin must choose between a fragile peace, forbidden love, and the fierce instinct to protect her children - before the bonds holding her world together are shattered beyond repair.

Reviews

""A well-written, thought-provoking, and unforgettable read. I loved that the story centres on a mother as the female protagonist - it felt refreshingly different and incredibly moving. Her journey to save her son had me on the edge of my seat, filled with tension and emotion throughout."" - Netgalley Reviewer ""If you're looking for a romantasy that proves second chances are possible, then this is the book for you. The tension is so thick, you could cut it with a magical sword, and the writing is filled with such genuine yearning that you'll be rooting for Evelin to find happiness, even if it means causing an inter-kingdom war. It's a gripping tale of love, sacrifice, and the ultimate parental conundrum: 'how do I protect my child from certain death while also pursuing a hot, forbidden romance?'."" - Netgalley Reviewer ""The heart of a mother; the trials of a woman; the aches of a wife. Evelin's story will lie embedded into my mind for a while. With beautiful and natural descriptions, eloquent dialogs, and intriguing characters, the author expertly brought to life the Fae world of Brigantium and depicted the moral turmoil of both Evelin and Trystan, giving the readers an ample fountain of transparency into their emotions and struggles."" - Netgalley Reviewer
