Author Information

Jeff was born 1956 in Sheffield, England. He started out as a research scientist and then went on to hold senior management positions in both the private and public sectors. He began bodybuilding as a teenager but didn't compete until in his forties and fifties, winning numerous titles (without the use of performance-enhancing drugs). In 2007 he decided to leave the corporate environment and set up his own business as a personal trainer, so that he could apply his (then) 33 years' experience of bodybuilding to help individuals transform the shape of their bodies and to get strong, fit and healthy. He began by training professional golfers but, since then, he has helped a diverse range of individuals to achieve their goals, ranging from aspirational young bodybuilders to retired men and women. In recent years, some injuries and a run in with prostate cancer have made it difficult for him to push his clients in the gym with the intensity required, so he is now more focussed on disseminating his knowledge, experience and wisdom to a wider audience by writing. Apart from bodybuilding, his hobbies are gardening, golf, hiking and angling. He likes to be outdoors, but when it is dark or raining he enjoys reading and listening to music, his tastes in the latter ranging from AC/DC to Handel. Jeff is a good cook but hopeless at DIY.
