Dr. McGarry has two young children, one of whom suffered from stool withholding. As a result, the author used her research skills and knowledge of developmental psychology to create an evidence-based approach to tackling this condition. Dr. Kate McGarry has published this approach in her book ""Stool Withholding: A Practical guide for Parents"" to help other parents tackle this condition.
