OverviewHumans are the product of the evolution of the first single-celled organisms on Earth, 3.5 million years ago. These organisms were guided by a rudimentary nervous system, driven by phylogenetic responses aimed at preserving the species. With evolution and environmental adversities, these responses became more refined, recorded in implicit memory. Fifty thousand years ago, humans acquired cognitive ability after the appearance of the corresponding cortical brain structures, which enabled them to think. This gave rise to the Freudian unconscious. We are governed by it and by implicit memory, that is, by the body and mind, a unit that interacts mutually. Faced with ""trauma"" at any age, the body-mind triggers phylogenetic responses to preserve the ""continuity of being"". In this vein, I will propose, in this text, my concepts of ""autistic withdrawal"" and ""disconnection syndrome"", based on these responses, as a hypothesis for the aetiology of a spectrum of diseases, which I call autistic, such as psychosis, autism, anorexia nervosa, psychosomatic symptoms and post-traumatic stress disorder. I hope to stimulate interested colleagues. There is illustrative clinical material.
