Accessible information and instructions are combined with huge amounts of fun in an area of endless speculation. And with Bartram's wonderfully under stated humour. Author InformationSimon Bartram graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic with a First Class degree in illustration in 1990, and his art style is heavily influenced by such artists as Peter Blake, Peter Howson, Stanley Spencer and Reg Cartwright. Simon has produced work for ES Magazine, the Independent on Sunday, Woodhouse London and Faber & Faber. His stylised way of drawing, which relies on exaggerated proportions, distortion and strong lighting, is proving popular with modern advertising. Simon would like to work in all areas of his craft, but he particularly likes illustrating children's stories and is currently writing and illustrating stories of his own. He has worked on a number of picture books, most noteably a retelling of the children's classic Pinocchio - runner up for the 1999 Mother Goose Award. Most recently, the already popular Greenaway award nominee Man on the Moon won two Blue Peter Book awards, including overall Book of the Year! Simon lives in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. His first title for Templar Publishing was Pumpkin Moon, followed by Man on the Moon, A Winter's Tale and Dougal's Deep-Sea Diary. Simon has recently finished his first poetry title for Templar Publishing, called Watch Out for Sprouts. He is now beginning several exciting new projects, including a football story, Up for the Cup. This will be followed by a brand new Bob title, Bob's Birthday. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
