OverviewBobbin trim is a lace making method made by meshing and curving lengths of string twisted on bobbins. As the work advances, the weaving is held set up with pins set in a ribbon pad. An example or pricking nailed to the cushion decides the arrangement of the pins. Bobbin trim is otherwise called cushion ribbon (since it was chipped away at a pad) and bone ribbon (on the grounds that early bobbins were made of bone or ivory) Bobbin trim is one of the two significant classes of high quality bands, the other being needle lace, gotten from prior cutwork and reticule.
