For a medical student's first exposure to plastic surgery this text would be a great starting point and provide a good basic foundation. -- Resident, Department of General Surgery, University of Missouri at Kansas City I found the table of contents to be appropriate for a pocket-sized book, especially for 3rd/4th year medical students. It covers most aspects of academic plastic surgery on an introductory level. The rest of the chapters are logically organized, making this book convenient to use as a quick reference source on the wards. I would like to commend the authors for including a separate chapter on "Wound Healing", because I found this topic to be heavily stressed during teaching rounds and a great source for "pimping" questions on the wards. I thought this chapter was very comprehensive, yet straight to the point. The format and content of "Blueprints Plastic Surgery" create a perfect companion-guide to a student embarking on a month-long plastic surgery rotation. This text provides enough information to lay down a basic framework of knowledge, without inundating the student with too much detail or complicated explanations that would be hard to grasp at his/her level. I would strongly recommend "Blueprints Plastic Surgery" for on-the-spot preparation before teaching rounds, clinics, or conferences. Also, this text provides an excellent starting point for in-depth research on a topic of interest. -- Resident in General Surgery, University of California San Francisco Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
